BUILD THE FOUNDATIONS FOR MATHS SUCCESS

Maths builds on what comes before.

When a learner hasn't fully understood one concept, the next topic can become harder. Over time, small gaps can turn into bigger ones — and confidence can begin to disappear with them.

At Rebel, we don't simply give learners more work to complete.

WE FIND THE GAPS. WE TEACH WHAT'S MISSING. WE HELP LEARNERS MOVE FORWARD.

Our tutors take time to understand what a learner already knows, where they're getting stuck and what they need to learn next.

Concepts are explained clearly, learning is practised and understanding is checked along the way.

The aim is not just to get through another worksheet.

It's to help your learner understand Maths well enough to use it confidently.

MATHS TUITION BUILT AROUND YOUR LEARNER

There is no single starting point — and there shouldn't be a single lesson plan.

We tailor tuition around your learner's:

  • CURRENT LEVEL

What they already understand and where they are working now.

  • KNOWLEDGE GAPS

The concepts, skills or areas of Maths that need strengthening.

  • LEARNING GOALS

Whether they want to improve school grades, prepare for SATs, work towards a GCSE or become more secure in Maths.

  • STRENGTHS & CHALLENGES

What they find easy, what they find difficult and how they respond best to learning.

  • CURRICULUM & EXAMS

Lessons can be aligned with their school curriculum and, where relevant, their GCSE specification and exam board.

Your learner doesn't have to fit the tuition. The tuition fits the learner.

Tuition can support:

  • Number

  • Algebra

  • Equations and graphs

  • Ratio and proportion

  • Geometry

  • Statistics and probability

  • Mathematical reasoning

  • Problem-solving

GCSE MATHS

Targeted tuition for learners working towards their GCSE examinations.

Support can include:

  • Identifying and closing knowledge gaps

  • Algebra and equations

  • Number

  • Ratio, proportion and rates of change

  • Geometry and measures

  • Statistics and probability

  • Graphs and functions

  • Mathematical reasoning

  • Problem-solving

  • Exam preparation and technique

Tutors can work with the relevant GCSE specification and exam board, including AQA, Pearson Edexcel and OCR.

UNDERSTAND MATHS. DON'T JUST MEMORISE IT.

Getting the right answer matters.

But understanding why a method works gives learners something much more valuable: the ability to apply their knowledge when the question changes.

Our tutors encourage learners to:

  • Explain their mathematical thinking

  • Ask questions

  • Try different approaches

  • Understand and learn from mistakes

  • Apply knowledge to unfamiliar problems

  • Develop reasoning skills

  • Become more independent

We want learners to move from:

“I don't know how to do this.”

to:“I understand it — I know how to approach it.”

Every Rebel Maths session is tutor-led. Our tutors teach, explain, question, listen and adapt in real time. If a learner doesn't understand something, the tutor can explain it differently. If they need more practice, they can provide it.  If they've mastered a concept, they can move the learning forward.

FIND THE RIGHT GROUP

Interested in Focus Group Maths tuition?

You don't need to find other learners yourself.

When you register your interest, we'll ask about your learner's:

  • Year group

  • Current Maths level

  • Learning needs

  • Preferred days and times

We'll use this information to match learners studying Maths at a broadly similar level.

FOCUS GROUPS START WITH 3 LEARNERS

Our Focus Groups are designed for 3–6 learners, creating a balance of tutor-led teaching, collaborative learning and individual support.  If we have a suitable match but don't yet have three learners to form a Focus Group, your learner can start with 1:2 tuition at £125 per learner while we continue matching.Once a suitable third learner joins, you can move to a Focus Group at £99 per learner.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT TO GET STARTED.

WHAT CAN CHANGE WITH THE RIGHT SUPPORT?

The goal isn't simply to spend more time doing Maths.

It's to help your learner develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to make progress.

Over time, this can mean:

  • CLOSING KNOWLEDGE GAPS
Understanding the concepts that have previously caused difficulty.

  • GREATER ACCURACY
Making fewer avoidable mistakes because the underlying knowledge is secure.

  • STRONGER REASONING
Understanding how and why mathematical methods work.

  • MORE CONFIDENCE
Approaching Maths with less anxiety and greater belief in their ability.

  • GREATER INDEPENDENCE
Knowing how to start, approach and work through a problem.

  • BETTER ACADEMIC OUTCOMES
Using stronger knowledge and skills to improve school assessment and examination performance.

READY TO HELP YOUR LEARNER MAKE PROGRESS?

Whether your learner is struggling with Maths, has gaps in their knowledge, wants to improve their grades or is preparing for an important assessment or GCSE, the right support can make a difference.
