The Personal Development and Employability qualifications - offered at Award, Certificate, Extended Certificate and Diploma Level - aim to help learners gain skills and knowledge for employment and prepare them for thr world of work.

WHO IS IT FOR?

These qualifications are available to for all students aged 14 - 25+. There are no formal entry requirements for learners undertaking this qualification.

LEARNING AND ASSESSMENT

QUALIFICATION AIMS

The Qualifications give learners the opportunity to:
➢ Develop their own personal growth and engagement in, and through, learning
➢ Engage in learning that is relevant to them and support their development of personal skills and attributes that are essential for working life and employment 
➢ Prepare themselves for progression into further education programmes, apprenticeships or other work-based learning 
➢ Develop their English and mathematics skills within a practical, relevant context

STRUCTURE 

Award: 2 units - Both units must be at the same level
Certificate: 6 units - Level differentiation allowed: minimum of 4 units must be at the same level (66%)
Extended Certificate: 9 units - Level differentiation allowed: minimum of 6 units must be at the same level (66%)
Diploma: 13 units - Level differentiation allowed: minimum of 9 units must be at the same level (69%)

NEXT STEPS

Achievement of these qualifications demonstrates personal growth and enagement in learning and the ability to use these skills successfully in the workplace and other real life situations.

Students can progress onto: 
• Progress onto higher level qualifications. For example, from Level 1 to Level 2.
•Progress from a Level 2 to a Level 3 Certificate in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development. 
• Further study for vocational, vocationally related, or general qualifications.
• An internship or apprenticehip with a local empoyer.
