ARTS AWARD
CREATIVITY THAT LEADS TO A RECOGNISED QUALIFICATION
Arts Award provides a flexible, youth-led route into accredited learning through Trinity College London.
Rather than asking every learner to demonstrate achievement in the same way, Arts Award enables young people to develop and evidence learning through their own creative interests.

At Rebel Creative Impact Hub, Arts Award provides a creative, personalised route into accredited learning, allowing young people to develop their interests, build creative skills and work towards a recognised qualification.
For learners who have found traditional education difficult to access, Arts Award can provide a different way to experience engagement, ownership and achievement.
CREATIVITY AS THE ROUTE IN
We believe young people are more likely to engage when learning connects with who they are, what they care about and what they want to explore.
Arts Award provides a flexible framework that can be shaped around each learner’s interests, strengths, creative skills and aspirations.
A learner might explore music and songwriting, while another develops photography, visual arts, film, drama, dance, digital arts or creative writing.
The qualification provides the framework. The learner's interests provide the starting point.
WHAT IS ARTS AWARD?
Arts Award is a creative qualification pathway through Trinity College London, supporting young people to develop their creativity, discover new interests, build skills and reflect on their development.
At Rebel, Arts Award can sit alongside:
English & Maths • Personal Development • Emotional Wellbeing • Specialist Engagement • Youth Voice & Social Action
This means creative learning can become a route into wider learning and progression, rather than sitting separately from the curriculum.
ARTS AWARD LEVELS
🎨 BRONZE
RQF Level 1
An introduction to creative practice. Learners explore their interests, develop creative skills, discover artists or practitioners and create evidence of their learning.
🎨 SILVER
RQF Level 2
Learners develop their creative practice in greater depth, undertake research, plan creative projects, share their work and reflect on their development.
🎨 GOLD
RQF Level 3
A sustained programme of creative development, research, leadership and reflection, supporting learners to develop greater independence and prepare for future progression.
Learners do not have to complete the levels in sequence. The appropriate level can be selected according to the learner’s age, experience and readiness.
EXPLORE YOUR CREATIVE INTERESTS
Young people can develop their Arts Award through a wide range of creative disciplines, including:
🎨 Visual Arts & Crafts
🎵 Music & Songwriting
🎭 Drama & Performance
💃 Dance & Movement
📷 Photography
💻 Digital Arts
🎬 Film & Media
✍️ Creative Writing
📖 Poetry & Storytelling
Creative projects can be developed around individual interests and can incorporate different disciplines where appropriate.
LEARNING THAT IS PERSONALISED
Arts Award can be particularly powerful when a learner's existing interests become the starting point for learning. A passion for music might lead into songwriting, research, English, digital design and creative project work. An interest in photography might lead into visual storytelling, research, communication and portfolio development.
The creative interest becomes a meaningful reason to engage, while the qualification provides a clear structure for achievement.
Learners can evidence their development through creative portfolios, photography, video, audio, written work, research, reflection and visual documentation.
MORE THAN A QUALIFICATION
Through Arts Award, learners can develop:
Confidence • Communication • Creativity • Research • Reflection • Organisation • Resilience • Independence
For some young people, completing a recognised qualification is an important achievement in itself.
For others, the experience of discovering a strength, developing an interest and realising “I can do this” can be the beginning of a much wider journey.
Arts Award can support progression towards further education, creative courses, vocational learning, training and employment, while also helping learners reconnect with education and recognise their own potential.
